Heavenly Father

We come to you with hope and love in our hearts, 

grieved by the inhumanity we see around the world. 

Violence, injustice, and cruelty rise where love and mercy should dwell.

Lord, hear the cries of the innocent. 

We lift up the leaders of nations, O God, 

where there is hardness of heart, soften it, 

where there is pride and selfish ambition, replace it with humility and wisdom, where compassion is

absent, breathe in the spirit of empathy and justice.

Let those entrusted with power remember that they are called to serve, not to oppress.
