Calling Our Nation to Prayer: Three Steps Toward Unity and Change

The Day of Prayer for Compassionate Leaders is more than a concept—it is a chance to unite our voices, lift our hearts, and call for transformation in our communities and our nation. At a time when division and injustice seem to dominate, prayer reminds us that change begins with faith and collective action. It unifies instead of divides. Here’s how you can take part in a simple but powerful three-step process.
Step 1: Plan Your Prayer Event
Start by gathering a group in your community. This can be as small as a few friends meeting in someone’s living room or as large as an entire congregation coming together in a sanctuary. The size doesn’t matter; what matters is unity. Each group will plan its own event to take place on February 16th, 2026, ensuring that people are joined together with one purpose: to pray for compassion and human dignity to be included in leadership decisions.
Step 2: Promote Your Event
Once your group has planned its gathering, it’s time to spread the word. Use social media, church bulletins, community newsletters, or simply word of mouth. The goal is to invite others to join in, so that on June 28th, voices across your community rise together in one chorus of faith. Promotion isn’t about numbers—it’s about ensuring that everyone who longs for change knows they have a place to pray.
Step 3: Gather, Pray, and Share
On June 28th, bring your group together for the event you’ve planned. Document the moment—take photos, share reflections, and talk about why this day matters to you. Then pray. Pray for transformation. Pray for compassion. Pray for justice. Pray for good. Afterward, share your story with the wider Day of Prayer for Compassionate Leaders community so that leaders and neighbors alike can see that we are united – not divided – in how we want to treat one another in this world.
Plan.
Promote.
Pray and Share.
Scripture reminds us:
- “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face…then I will hear from heaven.” — 2 Chronicles 7:14
- “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” — Matthew 19:26
On June 28th, let’s show our leaders—and ourselves—that unity, compassion, and justice are possible when we come together before God.
